k matsui I think I had the impression of recording taken to a very unrealistic sounding thing on yyed’s previous but having them come around with something that feels very sentimental and vulnerable and presented a lot quieter is very beautiful and refreshing…. inclusion of speech from someone I’m close with and a given a more obvious sense of place makes this feel like a very important thing….. easily one of my favorite things I’ve heard this year. Yyed and cheese!!!! Favorite track: loach bedding.

"stand quietly and be consumed within, as the fever path leads the way to liberation (chestnut branch inoculation)" is a testament to embarrassment, the pregnancy and labour of public illness, feverishly gazing at reflections in the subway car window; the loss of personhood trickling away with the last dregs of dignity. an elegy to the empathy of a sound once buried beneath layers of glass and brought to the putrid height of a seventh floor window, of a face pressed into the melting snow and visited by discordant tones from within. tender moments of benthic fish on linen sheets, box fans and wild boars are no different from a simulated x-ray, a claw into the earth, a sea gull's mockery. only the prick of a horse chestnut can return the clarity.
